Digital Encryptor
Our Company offers digital security with full customization capacity, and has been specially built for SignalGuard to meet the functional expectations of corporate clients, as well as the high security requirements of government customers.
The Digital Encryptor is designed to operate using 128-bit keys, and can be configured to use industry standard algorithms such as Triple DES, or an algorithm independently developed by the customer. Our technology offers a high level of security while allowing customers to take full control over all aspects of their encryption.
The Digital Encryptor is installed in-line between a standard desktop phone or fax machine and the telephone wall socket, and operates over international satellite links and certain Inmarsat services and VPNs, as well as the public telephone network (PSTN).
Security is activated at the touch of a single button, and audible confirmation is provided of the transition between clear and secure communications. The current security status is displayed at all times, together with the identity of the remote user. The Digital Encryptor combines a high level of protection with simplicity in operation, in a stylish and compact unit.

CES has developed a digital encryption architecture for full 128 bit security in a variety of communications channels. SQ Encryption has been designed to allow flexibility in implementation, and to meet the needs of government customers with an existing cryptographic network and key management system. SQ is now available for licensing and implementation in communications products and services. Depending on characteristics of the platform, products utilising SQ Encryption may be compatible with CES' own PSTN voice, fax and data encryptor, the SQ-Phoenix.
Security is based on the widely recognised eTEA algorithm, and a high quality hardware random number generator generates new 128 bit traffic keys for each secure session. Traffic key exchange uses the traditional encrypted key exchange method based on customer-programmed keys. The system allows a high degree of cryptographic customisation, enabling users to select an independent or industry-standard algorithm (such as Triple DES) for encryption.
Each unit can be programmed with 13 separate keys for concurrent use, and up to 99 updates can be automatically generated per key, allowing frequent key updates without completely reloading units. Key control can be integrated into users' existing key management systems or can be administered with CES' SQ Key Management application. Keys can be loaded either manually or via a fill gun for convenience and additional security.
The SQ Encryption System is now available for licensing and implementation. CES can provide technical and engineering assistance to design and build a solution incorporating this technology, in either a support arrangement or as a joint project partner. CES may also undertake design and development contracts to provide unique solutions for customers wishing to take advantage of SQ encryption protection, but lacking the expertise to independently undertake the integration.
Depending on the application, SQ can be implemented as a software-only module within the licensee's existing product, or as a software-hardware combination package (into existing hardware platforms or as a plug-in component).
