The RadDetector is a precision timepiece with a built in Geiger counter. It displays dose rate as well as cumulative dose. The RadDetector alarms when user defined limits of dose rate or cumulative dose are reached.

 

The RadDetector is ideal for emergency personnel who may have to respond to accidents, incidents or terrorist attacks, which could involve radioactive material. The only way to be sure no radiation is involved is to measure it. 

 

More and more ordinary citizens are interested in personal radiation protection. Reasons include lost sources, nuclear accidents, nuclear or radiological terrorism and the possibility of nuclear weapons being used in a war. We live in a world where radiation is a reality. People want to have the ability to measure it for themselves and they want to be notified when the radiation levels increase.

 

By having a radiation meter built into your watch, it is always available. The RadDetector will notify you of the presence of radiation, even when you don't think of it.

 

Technical Specifications:

The RadDetector features both a digital and an analogue watch. These two function independently of each other, which is great for traveling. You set the analogue watch to local time and refer to the digital watch when you want to call home.

The digital timepiece keeps track of the current time and date. It also has a daily alarm, which can be turned on or off.

 

The radiation detector can be run in digital Direct Reading Dosimeter (DRD) mode or in Survey Meter mode. In DRD mode, cumulative dose is displayed in mSv. In Survey Meter mode, the current dose rate is displayed in µSv/h.

 

Alarms can be set to indicate when a specified dose rate or cumulative dose is exceeded. In addition to the digital display, the RadDetector has LCD analogue displays, which provide a visual indication of the current dose rate and cumulative dose. The full scale readings on the analogue scales are the alarm settings.
